This is a book about stories. The stories tell how leaders dealt with people, complex issues, and tough decisions. Some of the stories are sad, others uplifting and some are funny. Some stories involve a few people others involve thousands. All gave us important leadership insights.
We propose that one of the most effective ways to keep up with the New Economy will be a real life leadership stories. As Warren Bennis says, "The right anecdote can be worth a thousand theories." We couldn't agree more.
We've read the books, attended the courses. What we learned most about effective leadership, we learned working in a Fortune 50 company and dealing with other companies small and large.
We found that the best leadership lessons were learned from experience. We lived these stories and learned many lessons about leadership. But the key lesson and the one that seems to be a part of most of our stories is the absolute importance of Leadership Integrity. We learned that if leaders don’t have Integrity, nothing else matters much.
We believe that short stories with real people and real business issues are a great way to communicate leadership lessons. That's why we wrote these stories.
